Two men wore arrested and tried and about thirty thousand dollars were recovered. Benninghoff refused to pay and it is alleged that he employed lawyers to defend the thieves. For this the detectives brought suit against Bomiinghbff and sons for compoundinga felony. The Crawford County Grand Jury found a true bill and the trial waspostponed till next term of the Court.
