The last grand jury returned an indictment against her for giving away liquor illegally and when Sheriff Hollingsworth appeared ather home early Monday morning armed with the necessary warrant for her gfrcst she was not at home. The sheriff rapped on the door several time but there was no response. Wearing some skin off his knuckles trying to make himself heard the sheriff left and returned a few hours later. In the mead time he saw her big husband peeping from behind a curtain. The second time the sheriff appeared at the house and knocked these was still no response, but knowing there was some one at home he demanded and was Anally admitted.He gated Mr. Clark if his wife was at home. “Go through and sec,” was his reply.The sheriff made a search but was unable to And Mrs. Clark.He came back to Newport and returned to Highland about dark and made another attempt' to find her. Another search of the house wa? made and again Mrs. Clark was not found.
