Meese, 70, Milan, Ohio.Police also reported the arrest of Richard W. and Blanche Conway, ages 32 and 40 respectively, on charges of disturbing the peace following an 'altercation at a Main Street baf.A Sarasota Negro was arrested for driving while intoxicated last night after his car crashed into the rear of another auto on Central Avenue at Fifteenth Street, with the impact causing the former to strike a telephone ( pole, splintering it in two places,! lt;and the latter to overturn in a * front yard.The accident, which occured about 150 feet in back of Officer Jack Lerer’s police ear as he was patroling Central, sent Thomas Swift Baumann, 70, 1424 Coconut Avenue, to the hospital for observation of possible back injuries, and Willie James Hope, 24, Negro, Newtown, to Jail on a charge of drunken driving.Both cars were heavily damaged, an estimate of $500 loss placed on Hope’s car which he said he had bought just yesterday afternoon, and a $350 loss to Baumann’s vehicle.Officer Lerer said Baumann had been following the polite car at a slow pace north cn Centralfor several blocks when his carwas suddenly hit from behind by Hope.
