Proceedings aro being taken by the Auckland Law Society to have the name of William Rigby solicitor, formerly practising in Auckland struck off the roll; and -at the Supreme Court recently Mr .Button, •on behalf if the society, asked Mr Justice Gillies'fdr directions as to service of notice, as Rfftbyhdil left the colony, H.a pointed lt;jut thirt this code of rule3 iraa defective as no directions'were given, and Ilia Honor promised to bring the matter before the Court of Appeal. A telegram to the Daily Times lulds that His Honor expressed the opinion that it was very undesirable to pro ■ceed against the man behind his back, especially as charges might have been brought against him long ago, Mr Rigby had not come out to trade upon his previous •experience, but went through all the regular forms of passing.
