(AP) — A Canton man was jailed today on charges that included attempted armed robbery and kidnapping following a week end in cident in which a gunman at one point posed as a convenience store clerk in anattempt to fool investigating officers.Authorities said the Sunday incident ended when one of the real store clerks, hostage in a getaway car. took the pistol away from the would-be robber after the vehicle crashed into a curb.No injuries were reported.Police arrested Dennis Taylor, 21, and in additionto the robbery and kidnapping complaints.charged him with two counts of assaulting a police officer.Authorities said the incident began when a man displaying a handgun entered the convenience store Sunday afternoon as twm clerks were changing shif ts.force him into a back room, then put on an employee jacket.
