Well Known Cubuque Man Who Man Who Was Short in His Accounts With Maccabees Is Free, Victory P. Remy received word Fri day that the board of pardon had granted his petition for a parole and so long as he observes the conditions he will not have to serve the sentence of eighteen months imposed by Judge Matthews at the January term of the district court after he had plead guilty to the embezzlement of about $600 of the funds of the local tent of the Maccabees, of which order he was financial secretary. Within a few days after he was sentenced his petition was placed before the board of par dons and that body ordered the clerk of the court to held up the muttimua committing Remy to the penitentiary and he was not taken there.
