A motion for new trial was overruled.Judge Thomas also passed sentence on Orlie Martin, convicted by jury of robbery with firearms. Martin’s plea for a new trial was denied and his attorney gave notice of appeal. His bond was set at $2,500. The jury fixed Martin’s sentence at five years in McAlester.The court formally sentenced Noah Roberts to one year and a day in the state penitentiary for assault with a dangerous weapon.Judge Thomas deferred until later today the sentencing of Tommy Christmas, convicted by a jury of grand larceny.
