M ■ ---IP« .Constable Goff Succumbs to WoundsAfter sufferin'*: for nearly two weeks with a terrible bullet wound in his breast, Jeff Goff, of near Creston, who whs shot by W. H. Griffith, succumbed to the injury early Thursday morning. Griffith is still at large and. there is but little probability that he will be captured.There had been some hopes of; i Goff's recovery, as he was a man of iron nerve, and after the ball was removed it was believed I that he would get well Apparently, he did improve somewhat : for a few days, and it is said that he walked around the house the day before he died. But Wednesday night he began to I sink and died Thursday morning. ; Mr. Goff was about fifty years ■ of age and is survived by his! wife and several children.
