The Selkirk Volunteer Firemen attended three grass fires on Monday, April 12. The first one started about 3:50 p.m. in the lanebehind Selkirk Motor Products. As the fire brigade was returning to the station, they were called to another fire on the river bank hehind Lakeland Dairies. Later in the day, atGrass Fires7:30 p.m., the firemen put out a fire at the golf course, on the bank of the hill behind Tait St. At 11:50 p.m., the firemen were called to a fire at Perimeter Marine. The fire was confined to a small part of the outside wail ofthe building. The origin of the fire is unknown.
