A.Doug Hendry, faced two sets of charges:- Grand larceny, for allegedly stealing an auto engine last Dec. 7. He faced five years in prison on the charge.- Violation of probation. Earlier last December he pleaded guilty to a burglary charge and was given probation. He was accused of violating it. Carlton and presented the negotiations for his approval.Taylor told the judge that Hendry would plead guilty to both charges against him: stealing the auto engine and violating his probation.In exchange, Peltecchia said, he would recommend the judgeimpose a sentence not greater than one year in the county stockade.UNDER TERMS of the deal, Carhon could sentence Hendry to one year for the theft and another for the probation violation on the burglary charge, but both sentences would run concurrently fnr a total of one year, they said.The deal also included the judge ordering a background investigation of Hendry prior to sentencing.Peltecchia told the judge that everyone involved was agreeable to the deal, including the sheriff’s deputies who arrested Hendry on the theft charge and probation officers who charged him with violating the probation.•*We feel these negotiations are fair,” the prosecutor told the judge.•Carlton accepted the deal with one condition.“IF 1 CAN’T gu along with the plea bargain because the
