Pomeroy, renegade American Communist, told his captors last night he Xell into an array ambush only because he was not Wearing his glasses.He said he could not see well enough to light or escape into the dense jungle. He didn't .say when he lost the glasses.Pomeroy and hall a dozen fellow Communist Huks were captured Good Friday morning in the High Sierra 35 miles northeast of Manila; The onetime U. S. soldier from Rochester, N.
