A mystery which officials of two states- have so far failed to solve suri'ounds the finding of L.M. Tinkey of North Liberty, St. Joseph county, on a Union Pacific train at Salina, Kansas, dead, with his throat cut from ear to ear. At first it was supposed that Tinkey committed suicide but from evidence found by relatives, it is believed the man was murdered and a roll of money, said to have contained several hundred dollars and which he had with him when he left his home, taken from him.
