PreliminaryhearingsoonA preliminary hearing of a manslaughter charge laid against an Emerson area woman in connection with the death of a 19-month-old girl will begin April 20.The charge was laid against Mary Hutt after Karen Elaine Hutt died March 3 in Winnipeg Children’s Hospital. The child was admitted to the hospital Feb. 29 with head injuries and multiple bruises to the body.At present, Mrs Hutt is free on bail of one surety of $5,000.After the preliminary hearing, the presiding magistrate will decide whether or not Mrs Hutt will be committed to stand trial.
