Grimme, dav« *commandant of police, arrived Tuesday at the ripe old age of thirty-four years and in celebration of the event he gave a party Tuesday evening in Nimrod hall, on East Main street, to the members of the day platoon and such of the night officers as found time, to drop in. There were refreshments in abundant*'.card tables, rnusie and a proper spirit for such an occasion and the time was most happily spent by Lieutenant Grimme and his guests. The host was given a happy surprise when DetectiveSergeant Charles Spillner. dean of theforce, took charge of the gathering long enough to deliver a felicitous speech in which he paid a fine tribute to the lieutenant and spoke with feeling of the strong fraternal bonds which united the men in the police service. At the conclusion of his remarks he presented Lieutenant Grimme with a handsome ring of gold, suitably inscribed. The train will leave here Sunday night, July ft, and will carry upwards of 150 people. Included will be the Shrine band and the Shrine patrol, about sixty men inall.
