Fox got. Mr. Hell, whom he deputized and they visited tho scene.Mr. Roll was given a policeman’s billy* as he did not have a gun. They were somewhat, surprised when thev arrived at the ten-*ant house to find two lamb’s feetin the hack vard. Thev made an• ♦investigation and found more of the sheep befon* entering.Two Arrestedbarter and Taylor were fount® in the house along- with a little over a half gallon of whiskey. Thev also discovered the carcassof a la ml weighing 70 or 7 apounds. Only the hind quarter had been removed, the remainder of the meat being unskinned. The lamb had been killed in the kitchen of the house.John Taylor resisted arrest and broke the whiskey container in the scuffle that followed. Mr. Bell soaked him in the head with the billy and1 knocked him out. Carter attempted to run but was overtaken by Mr. Bell who attempted to. pull him off a fence. It was necessary for Mr. Bell to hit him with the billy before he was subdued.Local, officers were notified and Deputies Temple Crockett, Roy Sumrpers,- E. L. Hudson and Squire Hurd went to the stene. They took the prisoners and the carcass and brought them to Pulaski. The plant was made of a 10-gallon milk can and a part of a churn. Taylor stated he stole the -can from the highway. It is claimed that one negro shot another but not seriously.
