One More Unfortunate, Etc.[I is our painful duty as a journalist ami chronicler of the events of the daj? to Gajsettk^o the reading world an alleged sad case of seduction, abortion anti death. As near as we have so far been able to learn, are substantially as follows: A woman named Auna Callahan, aged 28 years, and a domestic em ployed at onetime in the house of a prominent Eighth street lumber merchant, it is alleged made the acquaintance of a baker named Snell orSchnell, employed in a leading establishment in that line in this city.Their acquaintance ripened into friendship, and step by step, led to her ruin. Becoming in a condition to revult in moth, erhood, before wedlock, she, we understand, visited some place in Illinois, where au abortion was produced, resulting in her death in thi^Jcity, at tlie residence of a gentleman named Kraft, residing ou Twelfth street, who did not know what ailed her until after death ensued. The suffering woman made her appearance at Mr. Kraft’s on Tuesday, and we believe was buried yesterday. The details of the case are too shocking and sickening for publication, the case withal being a sad and melancholy one. Why there was no investigation we did not learn, as we understand the accusei^educer is still in the city, and is apparemly as unconcerned in regard to the matter as if nothing had occurred. We to-day heard of the occurrence too near press time to trace up all the rumors satisfactory to our-elf, therefore refrain from any comment until we learn further the facts in the numerous rumors now afloat in the city.m ■ ■■ iwii am —Particulars of the Death of .1.
