Kaufman, son of former Councilman Charles Kaufman, unexpectedly appeared and pleaded guilty to the embezzlement of $3,000, to [! which charge his father had just pleaded not guilty. Young Kaufmann declared:“I am the guilty party. I took the money and want to plead guilty. This has gone far enough, and I want to stop this worry.There being no charge against the young man, Judge VinsonhaUer said he was not properly before the court. His father’s bond was fixed, and both were permitted to depart.
