Otto Wielgorecki of, Blue island, 17 years of *tge, who was in the group, grabbed tlie barrel of the madman’s gun. MicRalak pulled the trigger and the bullet! pierced one of Wielgorecki’s fingers, He let go ofthe gun and Michalak fired again, the crond shot hitting young Wielgorecki in the region of the heart, the bullet passing through his body and coming out near the right shoulder. Michalak then started to run, and as he did so, fired three more shots into •hr group none of which hit anybody, and escaped.At 10 o’clock he was arrested in the company with Gus H. Wolske while entering the Burr Oak Hotel, by Patrolman Paul Gragowski of the Blue Island Department. Ho is now in Blue Island jail, pending the change of condition of Walter W’iel-glt; recki, who is hovering between life and death at St. Francis Hospital.Credit must be extended for the plondid and prompt service which the Blue Island Police Department rendered in laying oul a net to apprehend Michalak.
