* li aeveuieeuiu auu n* i*' late last night.At the same time police had rounded up a number of young men of the vicinity said to be implicated and were carrying on'a sweating process in an effort to get at the -trouble.The fight started at a club house conducted by Andy Brenner at Seventeenth and Kuowlton streets as the result of what is said to have been interference in a dance.William Pfaff and his brother, Anthony, were among a party who went to the club house, it w*as said, for the purpose of breaking up the festivities. The arrival of the party w’as the signal for trouble which climaxed when a wundow* w'as broken and one of the attackers was accused with having kicked it out.In the fight which followed the male contingent at the dance and the unwelcome visitors repaired to a “commons” near the club house and clubs and stones flew in all directions «in the melee. A score or more are alleged to have been engaged in the riot.In the midst of the fight one of the club party drew a knife and attacked William Pfaff and his brother. Pfaff was stabbed in the right side the blade penetrating to a rib where it was deflected. In defending himself -he received another cut on. the Thebrother was slashed on the^fjck, his clothes being torn but* the|j|in only scratched.The stabbing ended tbgffight andif,those engaged fled. Pfaff, who had fallen in the 6treet in his attempt to get away, was assisted by companions to the Klein home where police and. 4. . • * * _*Or. Hetfaeringtpn were called. The wounds upon Pfaff'will not prove dangerous unless blood poisoning results.Among those rounded up by the police ^wrere Carl and George Spillman, guests at the dance, who will be held .pending investigation.
