April 9.—A. clever method o£ making six dollars out of five has been discovered in the western part of this province, where it is said to have been practiced to some extent. Portions of vo single dollar bills are cat out in such a manner as not to destroy their legal tender quality, and chen the pieces are pasted together forming another 1UL The Beecher General ba^ issued instructions to banks with a view to breaking up the practice.
