Boyd mentioned in this article, is no relation whatever to our good democratic friend, John Boyd, of Coal Creek, or of our obliging postmaster, Fletcher, our genial grocer, W. G„ or of that wheel-horse republican politician, CoL G. W. Boyd, He is a Scotchman and came to this country several years ago, and took up his residence at Silver-| wood. He was an industrious fellow,. and by hard toil^accumulated a little | property. He was tempted by the flowing bowl, and ;his appetite for strong drink, has placed him on the downward road to ruin. At present he lives near ] Grape Creek, III.
