Included in the items to be sold was a 32-caliber H and R 1905 revolver, which was not found in a search of the home, the complaint said.Guildner told officers that on March 27 Taylor tried to sell him a .32-caliber H and R revolver, and asked if he knew anyone else who mav be interested in buying it Guildner reportedly told Taylor to contact a man named Scott Jones of Wisconsin Dells, who did buy the weapon. Taylor then tried to repurchase thisrevolverrevolver from Jones during the weekend of March 28-29. the complaint said This weapon also has been recovered by Menomonie policeTaylor told police that he returned to his home in Portage after leaving the home of a friend in Eau Claire March 25, according to police. He said he had a job interview at a store in Madison at 10 a.m. March 26. the complaint said.Taylor also said he had no contact with Hayden while he was in the Eau Claire area.The complaint said the defendant had been staying with Hayden last October or November, and moved out when a disagreement arose about a woman.Menomonie Police Chief Dennis Beety said earlierstate, including Eau Claire Taylor reportedly met Hayden in the fall of 1986 through mutual friends from the Eau Claire area.Taylor played at several area nightspots and took part in the 1986 production of “Peace Child.” a musical aimed at fostering better relations between the United States and Soviet Union, that was staged at Memorial High School.Taylor, from Milwaukee, was a frequent visitor to Eau Claire beginning in 1984. according to Eau Claire police.In addition to the Dunn and Eau Claire county cases, Spooner Police Chief Leroy Schindeldecker said the state Department of Criminal Investigation is also questioning Taylor about the June 1986 murder of Sheldon Kliman.Kliman, 59, was found stabbed to death in the lobby of the Palace Theater he operated at Spooner.
