Eight plead innocent to fraudASHLAND, Ky. (AP) — Eight ouisa residents indicted on ideral charges of misap-■opriating $970,000 from the irst National Bank of Louisa ivepleaded innocent.U.S. Magistrate Joseph M. ood presided over Monday's Taignment. He set no trial date, aving that to U.S. District ldge William 0. Bertelsman, ho will now preside over the ise.The defendants were indicted eb. 25 by a federal grand jury on total of 60 charges.Those entering innocent pleas onday were Lynn Courtney, aformer supervisor of bookkeeping and assistant cashier; her husband, Wendell Courtney; Glenda P. Dotson, a former employee in the bookkeeping department; her husband, Jim Dotson; Peggy Thompson, daughter of a former bank president; her husband, Cecil O. Thompson; and two Louisa business owners, Norman K. Hughes and Nell Thompson.The eight allegedly participated in a scheme BetweenFeb. 1, 1981, and Nov. 30, 1983, to fraudulently procure funds and extensions of credit from the bank through bad checks.
