Jaycees Plan Regional Meet In DanvilleJ'aycccs from Virginia's Region VII will gather lie rc April 20 for a day of competition, campaigning and entertainment.Danville Jaycees will be the hosts for the gathering of the 13 chapters in the region. The . meeting will be held at the King of the Sea Restaurant, beginning with registration at 12:30p.m. that day.A banquet beginning at 6; 30 will be highlighted by a speech by Del. \V. C. (Dan) Daniel, a candidate for Congress, and by awards to outstanding Jaycees hi the region.Following the early afternoon] registration, regional contests for Spoke, Spark Plug and Speak-Up awards will begin at 1 o’clock.A business session at 2 o'clock will include the election of a regional vice president to succeed Tom Barker of Altavista. The two announced candidates arc Donald Layne of Ringgold and Tommy Thompson of Altavista.Slate presidential candidates also are expected to make campaign speeches during the meeting.While the Jaycees are attending to business, their wives will be entertained at a 1 o’clock luncheon, followed by a fashion show.The evening program will start with a social hour at 5:30.Following the banquet, there will be a dance from 9 to 1 o'clock with the Royals providing the music.
