The Thomas Branigan Memorial library recently added to its collection of out-of-print books on the Southwest. “Historla ue la Nueva Mexico,' by Captain Gasper de VII-lagra. UniTThis work was first published in Spain In 1610.The edition secured by the library whs reprinted by I he Musco National in Mexico in 1900.Onate ExpeditionThe book, which is frequently called Uus epic of' New* Mexico, contains the history of the. Onatc expedition down to the capture of A com a early in 1593.The author was one of Onate’S officers, and accompanied him on this expedition. Since his death about ten years ago, his library has been sold at auction and to dealers in rare Items Lhroughoiit various parts of the country.
