CROSSES COLORADO ON LAST SAT URDAYBelieved to Be Headed for His OldHaunts in the Mountains ofThis County.(/Jim McKinney is on California soil once more and is beaded for his old haunts, ofther at Randsburg or Porter villel/ncl it is not unlikely that even now he is once more in Kern county, On Saturday last he crossed the Colo* rado river at Needles, about 160 miles from Randsburg. At that time be had with him two horses, a gray and a bay, and if he crossed the lower enJ of Death Valley there is no reason why he should not have reached this county by this morning.McKinney has many* friends in the mountain sections. At Randsburg he has a brother and other relatives, and through the Kernville, Linns Valley and Porterville country he is not only well known to the people, many of whom have known him since boyhood, but he is connected by blood and marriage with more than one prominent family in those sections.The Arizona officials are active in■pursuit of the outlaw and a posse was on his trail before he crossed into California. . Whether they followed him to this side is not known.*Sheriff Kelly today received the following dispatch from Kingman;Look out for James McKinney.
