But they had no money, and John Martin was married to someone else.So, police say, the couple devised a bizarre murder plot in which Trethewey, wearing oversized boots and ankle weights to throw off investigators, would kill John Martin’s pregnant wife so they could collect $500,000 in insurance money.Rebecca Martin, eight months pregnant, was hit by four bullets last week as she sat in the family car in a mall parking lot. She gave birth to a healthy, 7-pound boy by Caesarean section a few hours later, and was listed in fair condition Tuesday at a hospitalThe pair rehearsed the plot at the scene of the March 30 shooting and practiced disposing of the gun.
