He said he planned to meet with City Manager Dick Ballenger soon and draw up a “real serious ordinance governing pornography inCorsicana.We really need one,” he said and added that Cotton went to the theater because the department had received a bunch of complaints thismorning.Cotton said the complaints were made, for the most part, to officers on patrol and not to the dispatcher.People would stop a patrolman and tell him about the pictures, Cotton said.The police, said Massey, was not objecting to the theater displaying photographs, as long as they were inside the theaterI DON’T BELIEVE in a small town you can have this kind of thing,” Massey said. He added he had no objection to the showing of R-rated films, but a man has a right not to sec the pictures if he doesn’t want to.
