RESIDENT KILLSMRS. DORIS BERTALOT PETERS ALSO SERIOUSLY WOUNDSK, SELF WITH GUNWhen Mrs. Doris Bertalot Peters, Chicago, shot and killed her husband, 'William Peters. Tuesday at their home, 5024 North Kedvale avenue, Chicago, she also fatally wounded her twelve-year-old son, William (Billy) Bertalot, grandson of Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Bertalot, of 1227 South Carroll avenue. The grandparents were advised last night that the boy died at the Swedish Covenant hospital yesterday. After mortally wounding her husband and son. Mrs. Peters turned the gun on herself and is reported to be in a serious condition in the Cook county Bridewell hospital. Chicago authorities stated the woman is believed to have become deranged because of financial troubles. Her husband, who was a milk wagon driver, had been out of work for the past six months.Billy was the son of Danna Bertalot, former Freeport resident. Mr. and Mrs. Bertalot separated and the wife was later married to Peters. The Bertalots resided in Freeport for a time after, their marriage, then moved to Rockford and later to Chicago.The boy’s body will be brought to Freeport Friday and taken to the J. F. Bertalot home. Friends may view the body there between 1 and 2:30 o’clock. Ftfneral services will be held from the home at 3 o'clock tomorrow. Interment will be made at Oakland.
