'The negro, who at first pleaded guilty to first degree - murder, throughout the investiagtion of the case contended that Mrs. Ruth Gamble, wife of he slain man, had- promised to pay him $200 of Gamble’s insurance money if he would kill him.Mrs. Gamble, the mother of two children, denied the allegations, and was acquitted of complicity in her husband’s murder several days ago.
