Funk said he and Cassidy spent most of the winter going over leads in the Maryland sector.The victim, 18-year-old Betty Jane Kennedy, was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Kennedy of this city. Her lifeless almost nude body was found by a Waynesboro-area youth.Since the murder, police say they have quizzed more than 700 “possible suspects”, and witnesses, all of whom were released as innocent.”The body of the Hagerstown girl was found only several milesfrom the nation’s war time intelligence center, Camp Ritchie, where clever tactics of mayhem were taught.Betty Jane is believed to have been killed by the same method employed by the counter intelligence corps soldiers in training at Ritchie.Detective Sergeant Carl N.
