recover.Alleged Outlaw Given Freedom TULSA: Fred Spess, alleged member of the notorious Spess gang of Mannford, long the terror of that region of Indian Territory, was discharged by Judge Sulzbacher on the charge of stealing cattle, the grand jury failing to return an Indictment for want of evidence. Walter Spes^._ who was the leader , of the: gapag and* a brother of Fred Spess, is now serving a two yearn* sentence in the Fprt Smith prison and other members o£ the gang received: punishment at the' hands of the authorities.
