Jk V* M J I *Examination tor Murder.—On the 20th ult.,✓Abner Alden, of Windsor, and Phoebe his wife, werearrested, and on Wednesday of last week brought before Justices Chase and Orcutt for examination, on a eharge of murder, alleged to have been committed in 1826. A large number of witnesses were examined, but the testimony elicited, all of which was circumstantial, was not sufficient in the opinion-of the magistrates, to warrant the detentiou of the accused. They were accordingly discharged. The examination was continued sfor three days, and created a great excitement in the town. The person alleged to ha've been murdered was a pedlar, who Sis.-! purchased Alden’s farm; but subsequently, as AIden asserts, gave him his horse, wagon and goods to recant the bargain—all of which property was found in Alden’s possession.Counsel for the people, F.. G. Wheeler, Esq. of Windsor; for the prisoners, M. M’Donald, Esq. of this village.
