GOTHAM GANGSUSPECT HELDAT HOT SPRINGSDutch Schultz Charged‘Lucky' Luciano WithBeing the ‘Boss'New York, April 1 (/P)-The arrest at Hot Springs, Ark., of C harles ‘‘Lucky” Luciano, describ-! ed as the head of all organized1 vice rackets in New York, was j announced today by Thomas E. j Dewey, special racket prosecutor, j Dewey announced he had eaus- s ed Luciano’s arrest of a charge oi compulsory prostitution.Luciano, former associate ofArnold Rothstein, the gambler,and Jack “Legs” Diamond, gang loader, was hunted by police following the slaying of Arthur ( Dutch Schultz) Flegenheimer and i three others in Newark, N. J. j Police charged Luciano w*as the head of the Unione Siciliano, described as a secret organization once headed by A1 Capone in Chicago, and Frank Yale in New York.He was known in the underworld as “the boss”. In his delirium before he died, police said Schultz told them “the boss him-seli shot him.Arrested on Principal StreetHot Springs, April 1 (ZP)-Char-les “Lucky” Luciano, reputed vice king of New York, was arrested on one of the principal business streets of Hot Springs shortly after noon today by two officers. He made no resistance and was removed to the Garland county jail.1
