Executive Director Citizens Advice Bureau and founder of the Institute, gave a brief over-view of the Institute She slated that the Citizens Advice Bureau is a voluntary organization which provides free of cost to all Individuals a confidential andImpartial service of Information and advice on all subjectsOver the years, there has been asteady increase numerically, as well as in the complexity of problems The increase In the number of inquiries regarding employment ranked highest on the list In light of this CAB has continuously sought ways and means to assist in addressing this problemHaving received a head start from CE8EMO. a funding agency in Holland a partnership was developed with the East Queen Street Baptist Church In establishing the Evening InstituteAppeals were made' to Embasstes and individuals for assistance One of the Embassies from which assistance was received was the German Embassies which donated an electric stove a filing cabinet, a toaster and a scaleSo far there have been twocourses at the Institute from which there were 62 graduatesThe base of the Home Economics course has been broadened As a new component, dress-making has been added and skills in child care are being up-gradedSenator Montelth further stated that employers needed skilled and motivated workers who wore pro duCtivc and demonstrated a responsible attitude to their work This was what the Institute seeks to do Mr Freund expressed his plea sure In handing out the gifts te the Institute on behalf of his Government whose policy was to assisi worth-while projects in achieving their objectives He wished the students success in their endeavours as they sought to improve their quality of life
