Talented Laura Bergt-Busy Lady Takes on Another JobFAIRBANKS A 525,000grant has been secured for a feasibility study of an Alaska Native arts and crafts institute in Alaska, with Laura Bergt of the Institute of American Indian Arts heading up the study.The study is the latest in a long list of activities for Bergt, an Eskimo woman whose interests span from the national board of regents of the Institute of American Indian Arts to the Fairbanks North Star Borough Assembly, to which she was recently elected by a solid backing of Fairbanks residents.“When you want something done, ask a busy person to do it,” Bergt's campaign advertisement read in part and that, in summary, is the story behind Bergt.
