STRUGGLE PAYS OFFRole In “Sanford And Son” Big Break For Actress Who’s Worked Long, HardHOLLYWOOD (N’EA) —Lynn Hamilton is the lady who plays Donna Harris, Redd Foxx's occasional girl friend, on NBC’s Sanford and Son. It's a big break for a fine actress who's been working hard most of her life.Lynn comes from Chicago and grew up in an era when there wasn’t much opportunity — or even room to dream — for a black girl who wanted to become an actress. And that’s all she wanted to do.She joined her school drama club but did little besides paint scenery. She studied at the Goodman Theater, a fine Chicago drama school. Even there, there wasn’t much for her to do.
