Kingston recently.Included in the list of well-wish-4 rs was former Governor-General Mr Flortzel Glasspole. a patron of I ne Bureau.Mrs Monteith. after whom the lt;entre is named and who Is Its Director, said It was established to fill the need for the citizensAlready she said, the centrewhich began training In 1990. had 18 students and operated on a shift system. The course offered — dressmaking and home management — have a duration of nine months, she said, noting that for three weeks the trainees went on work experience.*Some of the present batch of* students, she said, had already gained employment.“The project Was conceived In hope. Dr. Joscelyn Richards. Chairman of the Bureau's fundraising committee said in a briefaddress. He added that 22 companies and Individuals donated more than $10,000 each towards the project.
