THE DORE GALLERIES.At the Dore Galleries there is a mixed exhibition for the benefit of the Duchess of Westminster’s Hospital, which is now associated with the British Red Cross Society. All the net proceeds of the exhibition and incidental concerts will be devoted to this charity, in addition to 20 per cent, of the amount realised by sales. Theleading feature of the exhibition is a collectionof wildly romantic portraits in oil and pastel byMme. Ivy de Verley. They show some imaginative appreciation of character, but they must be pra:sed for intention and for the worthy object of their exhibition rather than for performance. Otherwise the exhibition includes some extremelyclever humorous compositions in black silhouette by “ Berenice,” good etchings by Mr. Frank Potter, paintings by Mr. Alfred Allinson, and excellently clear and decorative illustrations to “Robinson Crusoe” by Miss Nancy Smith.CHARLES MARRIOTT.
