Class To Focus on Combining Career, FamilyWHITKWATRR How can a woman combine career and family?The Rev. Fran Buss will explore possibilities in a University of Wisconsin -White water women's studies course to be held at Craig High School. Janesville, beginning Thursday, Sept 2.The class, which will meet from 6 to 8:30 p m Thursdays during the first semester, carries three undergraduate or graduate credits and was inadvertently omitted from the fall outreach timetable.The instructor is an ordained minister and author of two books concerning women’s lives, “La Partera: Story of a Midwife” and “Dignity: Lives and Struggles of Lower Income Women in the United States “The class is designed to give a historical, economic and current understanding of the needs of women who want to or must act both as contributor to the family's economic condition and as a care giver in the family It will help women gain specific skills that will aid them with the complexity of these roles, including stress management, skill assessment, goal setting and problem solvingTo pre-register for the class or for further information, call the UW Whitewater Credit Outreach Coordinator, at (414) 472-1769 It will also be possible to register at the first meeting of the class.
