ftWXL TO Hear Yoko MatsuokatOn Wednesday, April 26 at 8 p.m. the Swarthmore Branch of the Women’s International League will hear Yoko Matsuoka speak on “The Last Teh Years in Japan” at Whittier House. Mrs. Matsuoka, who graduated from Swarthmore College in 1939, has returned to the College for a year of graduate work after spending the intervening years in her native country. During this time she was the head of a girls’ schol, and the first interpreter selected by the Army of Occupation, Moreover, as a, writer and editor, she has had much opportunity to observe and record conditions in Japan.The meeting will be preceded by a Japanese meal for WJL members prepared under the direction of Mrs, Charles Izumi and Mrs. Joseph Sakamoto. The public is cordially invited to hear the talk on Japan.
