And would you like a relaxing shoulder and neck massage after carrying all of those packages? No problem. The Body Scenter in Old Colorado City is your one-stop shopping place The shop in the Old Town Plaza, (2501 W. Colorado Ave., 578- 0412) has a plethora of relaxation products as well as things that would jazz up any cof fee table. Founded in 1982, the shop is the oldest body care store in Colorado Springs, ac cording to owner Pamela Jones. “T was never the type to work in an office,” said Jones. Shop owner offers massages, aromatherapy and African art who has been in business for herself for more than 20 years. Before owning her current business, she was one of its most frequent customers. In 1986, Jones found out the owners were selling, so she gave up her fabric and custom clothing business and bought The Body Scenter. “It was my favorite store— I came here all the time,” she said. The bulk of her bus iness specializes in taking unscented bath gels, lotions and body oils and adding a cus tomized scent for customers “IT work with 88 es sential oils - that’s lit erally millions of scent combinations,”’ said Jones With so many body care stores popping up, Jones fig ured she'd spruce up the store and keep her business unique.
