Rumblings of reported dissasisfac tion on the part of the M. H. Zinc company employees representing the rolling mill and the furnace depart ment with the voluntary 20 per cent wage increase announced last week by the company came to a head Sat urday when committees conferred with officials of the firm. It was understood that the rolling mill representatives sought to have the company redeem stock issued un der a cash-certificate wage agreement adopted some months ago while the furnace men are reported to have re quested their wages be put on a basis of quality with that of the men em ployed in the company’s mine. The workers are also said to have made the complaint that they are not actually receiving an increase over their present wage although the amount of cash they would get under that new plan would be greater. Mrs. Mary Carus, president of the company, has given stock certificates representing 40 per cent of the em ployees’ wages in lieu of cash but this plan was to terminate with the start of the 20 per cent cash increase. The employees previously had been grant ed a ten per cent advance in wages.
