Joseph’s Hospital yesterday afternoon after a four weeks’ Illness due to typhoid fever. An operation was performed yesterday, but It failed to relieve him.Bora In this city, Mr. Mathleu attended pubMc schools of the city and later entered Loyola College, where he wa* graduated with the degree of bachelor of arts. He then entered the Baltimore University School of Lost and was graduated *lth the degree of bachelor of laws.Mr. Mathleu was well known among the It gal fraternity of the city. He was a member of the Musical Art Society, Eden Conclave of Heptasophs, Royal Arcanum, Knights of Columbus and the Catholic Benevolent Legion.He is survived by a widow, who was formerly Mist Elisabeth Deupert, daughter of Mr. Adam Deupert, Clark of“lhe Court of Common Pleas; three brothers—Dr. A. H. Mathleu. Mr. Frank W. Mathleu and Mr. Joseph Mathleu—and one sister. Mrs. J. F. Bennett
