Monroe woman leaves school giftThe major part ot an estate of nearly $25(1,000 has been left to Bluffton College in u bequest by Miss Addie Schertz of Monroe.Miss Schertz died Feb. 24 at age 91. Since 1964 she had resided at the Mount Pleasant Retirement Home, Monroe.Her connection with Bluffton College at Bluffton. Ohio, was through her attendance at the Trenton Mennonite Church in Trenton.Bluffton College traditionally has had close ties with the Trenton Mennonite . Church. The church has sent many students to the school and has supported Bluffton financially through the college's 76 years.As early president of the college, Dr. S.K. Mosiman,lt; 19J0-1935f grew up in Trenton. The community of Bluffton also has some Trenton natives who moved there after attending college.The Schcrtz bequest, according lo Dr. Benjamin Sprunger, president, will be used for Bluffton’s new program development and science hall renovation.The college is encouraged by the Schertz bequest, especially since it comes from a woman who never visited the college, but who became aware of the school through her friends and the church,” said Richard Ramseyer. director of development al the college.Mr* rtnnrtlt V/
