Report On Detroit Parley Is Made At Woman’s Club MeetWith a membership of more than 2,000,000 throughout the world and an increase of 37,007 new members duririg the past year, the federation of women’s clubs is becoming a powerful factor in world affairs, according to Mrs. N. Bess Prather, state president of the Arizona federation. Mrs. Prather, who attended the triennial of the general federation held in Detroit in May, gave an interesting report of the high lights of the convention at the regular meeting of: the Casa Grande Woman’s club Tuesday afternoon. j \More than 6,000 women attended | the sessions with every state, Alaka and eighty-one foreign clubs represented, Mrs. Prather said. Subjects of interest were presented by speakers ot note in the three-day forums and were followed by many interesting discussions and questions. The adoption of a resolution endorsing birth control and discussion of the Foreign Policies of the United .States” were Important issues that came before the Detroit convention .One of the outstanding entertainments was the pageant The Frontier of America” presented, without .being rehearsed, by one thousand club women, Mrs, Prather took the part of a frontiersman, even to hunting boots .and muzzle . loader.Ten members of Arizona clubs attended the convention.Mrs. Roland Curry, first vice president, presided at the meeting and announced that the next card party of the Silver” series will be given Monday night, Sept. 30, at the club house with Mrs. J. D. Boyd, Mrs’ Paul Asti^um and Mrs. E. H. Boyd, hostesses.Mrs. Maude Anderson, president of the Desert Woman's club; Mrs. Malcolm Darrow, president of the Junfors; Mrs. Fred Kohn, Mrs. Sherman Hardin and Mrs. Paul Ripple were guests.
