— Binoxide of Manganese, or pyrolusite, of a very pure quality and highly crystalline, has lately been discovered in Clay township, Huntingdon county. Specimens have been sent to New York and Philadelphia. and there analyzed and found to contain at least seventy-five per cent, of Manganese, which is said to be as rich as any of this valuable mineral now found in the I’uited States. The property on which it is fouud has been leased by Mr. Richmond Anderson, of Fort Littleton, Pa., who is one of the owners of the Barytes mine at that place, and who is now organizing a company to develop the manganese. Operations are to be commenced at once, as the proximity of the property to the East Broad Top railroad greatly enhances the value of the lease.
