ComeRedltota.Francisco Gonzales, who was sent to the county jail some weeks ago by Justice Danner or AernviUe on a misdemeanor charge, was this afternoon identified by D. W. Tolar of Kern as one Santiago Contreras, who about a year ago came to Kern and by representing himself us a welltodo sheepman succeeded in getting several small sums of money from different parties. Mr. Tolar was a victim tothe extent of $5, Walters, the drug-gist, was another and several others fell before ihe Mexican’s oily tongue.Santiago claimed at that time to bo in the employ of Charles Brown, a well known KernvlUe man and showed a chuc* purporting to be signed by the latter for $80, which, U Is now claimed, was forged, He showed Mr. Totar a large band of sheep just nut-side of the town limits which he claimed to own and no one suspected him of being anything but what he claimed to be.
