On the Death cf Henry MoNev.Henry McNew has been laid away, and a good man's usefulness is done on earth.He was born near Hopewell, thia county, Sept. 2, 1833, and died near hii birthplace. Monday evening, Sept.10, IsSH, after au illness of several oaths.The cause of his death is traced to his having fallen quite a distance from an apple tree while in the act of Hiving bees, from the efleets of which he never recovered.He was a valiant soldier, serving during the late war in Co, G. 35th Regt, Ind. Vol. He was a member of the G. A. li. Post at Holton, and his remains were laid away according to their ritual, after a short service at the bouse, and the body buried in the Old Hopewell cemetery, on Wednesday. Sept. 12.All of him that is mortal lies there, and in time will mingle with the dust of earth, but his spirit lives, and will live on through endless centuries to co mo.He leaves a wife, live brothers, three 1 sisters and a host of relatives and 1 friends to mourn. He was a popular neighbor and a prominent citizen of the county, as was shown by the large 1 concourse of friends who attended 1 the last sad rites; it being one of the * largest processions ever witnessed inthat vicinity.He was a prosperous farmer, and one of the wealthiest men in Otter Creek township.He was honest, kind and upright. May he rest in peace.
