The death of A E. Touzalin makes another break in the galaxy of rjist:n-guished railway men who have been more or less prominently identified with with Burlington and the railway inter ests centering here. Mr. Touzalin, like the late T. J. Potter, rose rapidly in the railway service from a comparatively humble beginning, but hie promotionswere always deserved and came to him because of his undoubted fitness for the work he was called upon to do. Many able and briliiaDt railway men have been educated in and graduated from the C , B Q road, under the Perkins mv_agement, and many of the leading railways of the country now have prominent officials and managers who gained their first and best training whilein the employ of the C , B. Q. road Mr, Touzalin was a man who stood high in the esteem of all who came in contact with him. Socially, he was affable aod courteous and in business matters he was thorough, direct and incisive. He was of a nervous temperament, of keen perception and quick to get at the core of any business that he had to transact. He imparted his nervous energy to his subordinates and gave a v.m and vitality to any enterprise with which he was connected. that brought quick and assured success. Probably no man has done more to advertise the famous “Burlington Route” han Mr Touzalin. when he was in charge of that department. He made the name “Burlington” almost like a household word in Europe and in this, as well as general friendliness to our city, the people of Burlington, owe him a debtof gratitudeBut Mr. Touzalin. like Mr Potter, burned the candle at both ends His life was shortened no doubt by tremendous drafts made upon his vitality, andhis career has been prematurely ended. But it can be said of him that, what he did was done with all his might, and welldone.
